Katherine Kolpak Rasmussen

I have been an artist as long as I can remember. As a small child I always wanted to paint horses, I was always asking for a pencil and paper to draw on, and that is what made me happy.

Art was the most interesting class for me in high school so after I graduated I attended the Medicine Hat college for 3 years and received a Visual communications diploma. I worked for several years as a graphic artist but my passion still seemed to be painting the beauty of landscapes.  Oils, acrylics and watercolours are all the mediums that I like to work with. Watercolours are probably my favourite of the three… I paint to nurture my soul.

I have taught oil and acrylic beginners classes at the Bowmen Arts Centre and am an active member of the Lethbridge Artists club.

Some of the recent exhibits that I have shown my work in:

I love your “Gypsy on quilt” painting, Katherine. She looks like she is in my room.
